Chapter 7. VECTOR MEMBERS > USING FLASH MEMBERS

USING FLASH MEMBERS

Another type of vector graphic is the Flash member. Macromedia Flash is a standalone tool for creating vector graphics and animations for Web pages. It uses vectors, rather than bitmaps, to create very small files that can do a lot.

Starting with Director 6.5, developers have had the capability to import Flash members into Director as cast members. A Flash movie can be as simple as a single frame with a vector drawing on it. In this case, you can use Flash members like vector shape members. The advantage is that you can have much more in a Flash member, such as text and bitmap elements.
