Chapter 17. CONTROLLING SOUND

IN THIS CHAPTER

Using Lingo's Sound Commands

Using Cue Points

Playing External Sounds

Using Shockwave Audio

Although the Score can handle background sounds, and behaviors from the library can add sounds to buttons and other simple elements, understanding the Lingo commands that control sound is necessary to use sounds in more advanced Director programs. All three main types of sounds—internal cast members, external files, and compressed Shockwave audio—can be controlled using Lingo. This chapter discusses the ways to control sound using Lingo.
