Chapter 5. SOUND MEMBERS > DID YOU KNOW?

DID YOU KNOW?

  • You can create Shockwave audio compressed files and then import them into Director as internal cast members. You can create sounds that are compressed all the way down to 8Kbps in this way. However, be sure you don't lose too much quality.

  • You can't export sounds from Director normally, but you can copy a sound cast member and then paste it into another sound program. You can also choose an external editor by choosing File, Preferences, Editors and saving the sound that is referenced when you launch the editor.

  • Just because a Shockwave audio file sits on an Internet server doesn't mean that the movie must sit there as well. A Director movie can be run as a Projector, or even in Director, and can still play Shockwave audio over the Internet as long as a connection exists.
