SIMULATING 3D SOUND

True 3D sound would mean a set of surround-sound speakers or some similar setup. However, you can easily simulate depth by setting the volume of a Sound channel.

Rather than using two different Sound channels as described in the preceding example, this example just uses one simple sound. The sound gets louder as the cursor approaches an object, and quieter as it moves away.
