SETTING SPRITE COLORS

You can also set the foreground and background colors of your sprites. You can change these colors by selecting the color chips in the Score window, Sprite Inspector, or Tool palette. The defaults are to have the foreground black and the background white.

By changing the colors of sprite, you ask Director to perform a type of tint. Changing the foreground color causes all pixels to be tinted to that color, except for black. All black pixels simply become that color. With the background color, all pixels are tinted except for white, which then becomes that color.
