USING THE SPRITE BLEND

In addition to inks, you can use blends to modify the appearance of a sprite. Blends enable you to mix the sprite with whatever is behind it. You control the percent of the blend, with 100% being totally opaque.

To use blends, you should set the ink of the sprite to Blend. Director enables you to use other inks, but the use of a Blend overrides them. The Blend ink is similar to Matte in that Director creates a mask to fit the shape of the image. You can also use Copy ink if you want no mask, or use Background Transparent ink if you want all the white pixels to be transparent. Both these inks work as expected in addition to having the blend.
