USING FRAME PALETTES

Under the Tempo channel is the Palette channel. The Palette channel enables you to set the palette for each frame in a movie. To access the Frame Palette dialog box, double-click the Palette channel in the Score. Although some developers can go their entire lives without this feature, others use it constantly.

Suppose you are making an educational CD-ROM about the planets in our solar system. You want to display the best possible images of each planet, but the movie must run on machines that use 256-color monitors. You can display a nice image of Mars by using a palette with a lot of reds. However, an image of Saturn should have a lot of yellows. You can make custom palettes for each of these and then display them in frames that use these palettes. The palette should be assigned to both the bitmap and the frame it is on.
