DID YOU KNOW?

  • If you play your movie and watch the Control Strip as the movie plays, you can see the tempo at which your movie is actually playing, directly under the number showing how fast your movie should be playing. If your movie is playing slower than it should, adjust your tempo lower. Otherwise, a faster computer than yours will end up playing the animation at a faster frame rate.

  • In addition to frame transitions, you can also have transitions on sprites. This is provided through the use of a set of behaviors in the Library palette found in the Animation, Sprite Transitions category.

  • You can use the Darken ink—combined with applying a color other than black or white as the foreground color—to simulate color saturation in an image. PhotoShop users can do this with the Hue, Saturation, and Brightness tool. However, in Director you can tween color values to animate the color change!
