Chapter 8. OTHER MEMBER TYPES > USING QUICKTIME VR

USING QUICKTIME VR

QuickTime virtual reality (VR) files are often considered another media type. In fact, with QuickTime 3, they are treated in Director just like any other QuickTime media file. The main difference is that the control strip for a QuickTime VR movie has different controls.

There are two types of QuickTime VR. The first is a panoramic image. Here, the users can use the cursor to swing the image left, right, up, and down, and enjoy a 360-degree view. Users can even zoom in and out of such images. Real-life images must be captured with a special camera and stitched together with special software. Some 3D rendering tools enable you to create modeled panoramic scenes.
