DID YOU KNOW?

  • You can change the background color of a pushbutton by selecting the text in it and then using the background color chip in the Tool palette. This creates more interesting buttons.

  • Even if you are working in 16-, 24-, or 32-bit color, palettes are still useful. If you have a large image of trees, for instance, you can save it from PhotoShop as an 8-bit image with an adaptive palette. This palette contains the 256 colors that best represent the colors in the image. When you import the image, you also import that palette in another member. This makes the image more compact in the file, but ensures that it still looks good on the Stage. Plus, you can have many images using many different palettes on the Stage at the same time when you are above 8-bit color.
