USING LINKED MOVIES

An alternative to the “Stage Overlay” idea is to use linked movies rather than MIAWs. A linked movie is simply a cast member that has been imported into the main movie. The linked movie can be placed on the Stage and users won't know it's a separate movie. The Score and Cast for this linked movie still exist as independent files, but they are represented in your main movie as members.

The difference between a linked movie and a film loop is that all the scripts in the linked movie are still active and working. In a film loop, only behaviors and some other scripts work. Film loops are meant more for animation, whereas linked movies are for more complex interactive movies.
