Like animation, digital video presents successive frames of graphics to create a moving image. Video is typically real-life recordings, but can also be rendered animations. You can use various digital video formats with Director.
QuickTime underwent a major transformation in 1998 with the release of QuickTime 3. I do not recommend working with media using versions of QuickTime before version 3. With the release of QuickTime 4 in 1999, more improvements were made, including the addition of streaming video.
