TROUBLESHOOTING GRAPHICS APPLICATIONS

  • If your slideshow can't seem to find the image files, it might be because the pathname is not being compiled correctly. Try placing the pathname in the Message with a put command each time the filename property is set. This way, you can check it.

  • In a slideshow, you need to have the image member initially linked to some image. Make sure this image is present when you deliver your final product; otherwise, an error message comes up when the movie is launched. It's a good idea to make sure the filename is set to link to the first image in the slideshow, or to have it linked to some very small placeholder image file.

  • When creating scrollbar graphics for the scrolling image behaviors, the placement of the background graphic determines the range of movement of the marker. So be sure to test it at both maximum and minimum values.

  • Not all inks are affected by the color and bgColor properties of a sprite. If the image is 8-bit color or higher, these settings have little effect on the image for most inks.
