PANNING LARGE IMAGES

Sooner or later, every Director developer has to face the situation in which an image that needs to be displayed is larger than the Stage. Frequently, these are huge images of maps, diagrams, or even detailed photographs.

If the detail in the image needs to be preserved, shrinking the image to fit is not an option. The only solution is to display only a portion of the image at a time, and enable users to pan around the image to see whatever portions they need to examine.
