Chapter 15. GRAPHIC INTERFACE ELEMENTS > CREATING PROGRESS BARS

CREATING PROGRESS BARS

Using some of the same techniques used to make the slider bar, you can create a progress bar behavior. A progress bar is a rectangle that enlarges to fill a space as a process is completed. An example is the progress bar the Director displays every time you choose File, Save.

If you have a Lingo process that takes more than a fraction of a second to complete, you might want to display a progress bar so that the users know that the computer is not frozen, but simply processing their requests.
