Chapter 32. GAMES > DID YOU KNOW?

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Many games use a shuffle to randomize playing pieces or cards. Shuffling uses the random function to pick cards out of the first list and place them in the second. If you want to keep the shuffle the same every time you play, which is good for testing, try setting the randomSeed property to a specific number, such as 1, 2, 3, and so on. This ensures that the same random numbers are generated each time and makes your shuffle the same for each game.

  • Want more game examples? Remember that I've written an entire book on Lingo games called Advanced Lingo for Games, published by Que. You can find it in online stores and your local bookstores.
