Part IX: Finishing A Project > CROSS-PLATFORM ISSUES

Chapter 35. CROSS-PLATFORM ISSUES

IN THIS CHAPTER

Developing for the Mac and Windows

Developing for Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer

Using a Cross-Platform Checklist

Source movies for this chapter can be found on the CD-ROM in the “Book Movies” folder under folder 35.

If you are developing for just the Mac or just Windows, you might not have to worry about cross-platform compatibility. However, this is usually not the case. Most of the time you need to consider both platforms.

The same is true for Shockwave and browsers. This time the competitors are Microsoft, again, with Internet Explorer, and Netscape Navigator. Your Shockwave movies can be run in both, so you must keep this in mind when developing your programs.
