Chapter 27. EDUCATIONAL APPLICATIONS > CREATING STANDARDIZED TESTS

CREATING STANDARDIZED TESTS

Although computer geography quizzes and matching games are much more interactive than old-fashioned paper and pencil tests, sometimes you just want users to answer questions. A lot of aspects of paper-and-pencil tests, however, are not easy to duplicate on the computer.

Tests usually have many questions, too many to fit on one sheet of paper. As you can imagine, it makes no sense to try to fit all the questions onto one computer screen, either. Instead, one question per screen is more appropriate. However, this brings up the issue of navigating between questions. After all, paper and pencil tests enable users to skip questions and go back to change answers on previous questions.
