Chapter 33. DEBUGGING > USING LINGO DEBUGGING TOOLS

USING LINGO DEBUGGING TOOLS

The best thing to do when you find a bug, of course, is to fix it. Fixing bugs is actually a major part of coding. A Lingo program of any size is certain to need some debugging. It doesn't matter how experienced you are. Expert Lingo programmers tend to write more code, and this code is more complex. Thus, they have just as many bugs as beginning programmers, who are more conservative in their programming.

When a bug appears, it is usually in the form of an error message. Figure 33.1 shows a typical error message dialog box. The important items to notice are the Debug and Script buttons. These buttons take you to the two most powerful debugging tools: the Debugger and the Script windows.
