Chapter 14. CREATING BEHAVIORS > BUILDING A COMPLETE BUTTON BEHAVIOR

BUILDING A COMPLETE BUTTON BEHAVIOR

Now you know enough to build a complex button behavior. This behavior needs to perform many tasks, such as the following:

  • Changing state when users press down on the button. There should be a choice of how the down state member is chosen: as the next member in the Cast, as a member with the same name as the original member, but with the word “down” appended, or as a specific member name.

  • Changing state when users roll over the button. There should be a choice of how the rollover state member is chosen: as two members from the original in the Cast, as a member with the same name as the original member, but with the word “rollover” appended, or as a specific member name.

  • Playing a sound when users press down on the button. The sound name is chosen from the current sound members in the Cast.

  • Playing a sound when users roll over the button. The sound name is chosen from the current sound members in the Cast.

  • Changing the cursor when users roll over the button. The cursor is chosen from the built-in cursors.

  • Playing a sound when the button is successfully clicked.

  • Taking the movie to another frame with a go or play command when the button is successfully clicked. Also, a play done command can be executed.

  • Calling a specific Lingo command or handler when the button is successfully clicked.
