DID YOU KNOW?

  • Although vector shape members have only one fill type, color, stroke width, and other properties, you can create more complex Freehand or Illustrator[nd]like images by using several vector shapes on top of each other.

  • EPS files are actually lists of vertex points and handles. If you get to know the EPS file format well enough, you can write a Lingo script that reads these files and creates vector shape members based on the data.

  • Vector shapes and Flash members, when placed in a sprite, can be rotated, skewed, and scaled like bitmaps. However, because they are made of curved lines, enlarging them does not degrade the image resolution.

  • You can use the Lingo command to put “showProps(member x)” in the Message window, where x is a vector shape member, to get a complete list of all its properties. The same is true for Flash members.
