Chapter 20. CONTROLLING VECTOR GRAPHICS > TROUBLESHOOTING VECTOR LINGO

TROUBLESHOOTING VECTOR LINGO

  • When setting the vertexList with Lingo, be sure that it is a valid vertex list, with all the properties spelled correctly and the values in the proper format.

  • If you are animating by using Lingo to change the vertexList while the movie is playing, the centerRegPoint should be set to FALSE, the originMode set to “center”, and the vector's scale mode set to “auto-size”. Otherwise, the sprite appears to move around the Stage as the shape changes.

  • If you are trying to apply a fill color to a vector shape, make sure that the closed property is set to TRUE. Otherwise, there is no area to fill.

  • The more vertex points in a vector shape, the more slowly it draws. Anti-aliased vector shapes also draw more slowly than non[nd]anti-aliased shapes.

  • You usually want to set a vector shape's sprite ink to Background Transparent. Leaving it as Copy applies the background color of the member to the whole rectangle on the Stage.
