Chapter 17. CONTROLLING SOUND > USING SHOCKWAVE AUDIO

USING SHOCKWAVE AUDIO

Playing Shockwave audio is a little different from playing regular sounds. To play Shockwave audio, you need to create a Shockwave audio cast member. You can do this by choosing Insert, Media Element, Shockwave Audio.

The result is a new member that has a Properties dialog box like the one shown in Figure 17.1. The most important part of this dialog box is the Link Address, which specifies the full or relative path of the Shockwave audio file. If the path is relative and the movie is playing in Director or a projector, the path can specify a file on the hard drive or CD-ROM rather than on the Internet.
