Chapter 28. BUSINESS APPLICATIONS > CREATING COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING PROGRAMS

CREATING COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING PROGRAMS

Quizzes and tests are good for testing knowledge, but if done correctly, they can actually teach as well. Computer-based training programs are programs that teach concepts using a computer. They use human-computer interaction to reinforce ideas or processes.

As an example, computer-based training may be used to teach employees at a company how to use the new phone system. If the phone system has a lot of different codes that perform different tasks, a beginner can get confused easily and have to look up the codes in a book or on a reference chart. However, it would be far more efficient to have the employees memorize the codes so that they can use the phone system without a hassle.
