Chapter 11. ADVANCED TECHNIQUES > USING THE BEHAVIORS LIBRARY

USING THE BEHAVIORS LIBRARY

Chapter 2,Presentations with Director,” showed you how to use some behaviors that come with Director 8. These behaviors can be taken from the behaviors library, accessed by choosing Windows, Library Palette.

A behavior is a piece of Lingo code that will control either a sprite or an entire frame. It tells the sprite or frame how to behave. They are either written by typing Lingo, or using the Behavior Inspector, which produces the Lingo code automatically. This chapter shows you how to use the behaviors in the library that comes with Director 8 and how to make your own using the Behavior Inspector. In Chapter 14, “Creating Behaviors,” you learn how to write behaviors with Lingo.
