Part VI: Appendixes > JavaScript Reference

JavaScript Reference

JavaScript is a scripting language that you can use to implement both server-side and client-side components of a Web application. JavaScript files are saved with a .js extension. You can embed JavaScript within HTML by using the <script> and </script> tags. The <script> tag is the opening tag for JavaScript statements. To specify that the language used is JavaScript, you need to use the language attribute with the <script> tag:

<HTML>
<head>
<title>Introduction to JavaScript </title>
<body>
<script language=”javascript”>
document. write(“Welcome to javascript”)
</script>
</body>
</html>
