Checking Links and Fixing Broken Links

A site is a collection of individual files that are linked to each other. If the link between any of these files breaks, the site loses its impact. Links in a site are broken for various reasons, such as moving files from one location to another and deleting files that are linked. It is essential to fix these broken links and remove all those files, which are not linked to any other file, to maintain the site’s integrity. The files that are not linked to any other file are called orphaned files. You should delete them, because they occupy disk space.

You can solve all the problems arising from broken links by using the Check Links option available in UltraDev. The Check Links option lets you search for broken links and unreferenced files in an entire site, in certain portions of a site, or in a particular document. To check for links in an entire site, follow these steps:
