Creating a New Site

To begin creating a new site in UltraDev, follow these steps:

1.
Create a local folder for every new site that you create. You can use this local folder for creating and editing new files. The local folder can act as a temporary storage location for your site before you publish it to the Web. This local folder is also known as the local root folder.

2.
Specify a Web server and create a remote folder on it. The remote folder on the Web server will have your site files. The Web server publishes these site files and serves your site to the target audience. You need to ensure that the folder structures on the local machine and on the Web server are exactly alike.

3.
Specify an application server. This application server can be any server that supports the ASP, JSP, or ColdFusion technologies. You need to specify the server technology at the time you create the site so that UltraDev can use this information to connect to the application server at design time. You also need to specify the scripting language that UltraDev will use to generate the underlying code as you develop Web applications.
