Summary

This chapter dealt with building a search feature in a Web application. It also dealt with adding, updating, and deleting records in a database. You can build a search feature into a Web application by using a form that accepts search parameters from a user. This form calls a results page that retrieves the record matching the search parameter by using a recordset.

You can build an insert page by using a combination of a search page and a results page along with the Insert Record server behavior. You can use the Record Insert Form live object to build the insert page. You can build an update page by using the Record Update Form live object. You can also build the update page by using a combination of the search page and the results page along with the Update Record server behavior. You can implement a delete operation using the Delete Record server behavior.
