Today's web designer must combine form and functionality to create an intuitive user experience.
Designing for the web means creating something that looks two-dimensional, like a printed piece, but upon deeper involvement reveals interactivity and layering of information. This makes web design a lot like product design, a discipline in which you design something that you interact with (for example, a better snowboard binding, a more usable corkscrew, or a revolutionary self-sifting litter box). Your website is a product; it gets used.
