This Tip Totally Rules

Sometimes it is helpful to separate multiple-column content in the same table with a straight line or rule. I can think of a couple of ways to fulfill this wish right off the bat. Generally, I start by making sure that the content rows I want to separate have at least one row between them—call this the rule row. Select the rule row and merge all the cells into one. Now you have the choice of inserting a horizontal rule tag, <hr>, or a small colored GIF (like 2 pixels x 2 pixels). Change the width of either to 100% and, as they say in pseudo-France, woilah.
