Chapter 9. Peel Rubber: Maxing Out Your Code > Complete Formatting Control

Complete Formatting Control

Because you’re now familiar with the Tag Library Editor from the “Create Your Own Code Hints” tip, I thought you might want to know just a little bit more about what you can do with it. The default source formatting can sometimes yield undesirable results. Before Dreamweaver MX, you had to manually edit a certain file to get any sort of custom formatting—with quite a bit of trial and error. Now all it takes is selecting the tag in the Tag Library Editor, and then selecting Line Breaks, Contents and Case settings. Just remember that a tag’s formatting depends not only on its own settings but the setting of Contents for the parent element containing the tag. You even get to see an example of how the code will look in the Preview field.
