Chapter 9. Peel Rubber: Maxing Out Your Code > Check this Out at the Library

Check this Out at the Library

Although the Tag Library Editor is wonderful for tweaking your code, it really begins to shine in its capability to accept custom tags. Choose Edit > Tag Libraries to see all the current tags and make their settings available for modification. You could truly spend days here getting your code just the way you want it. To add a tag, select its language (or insert your own) and choose Add (+). After you define a tag, you can add attributes to it. Now, if you really want to see some power, how would you like to add a whole slate of tags and attributes at once? You can do exactly that if you have, at hand or online, a DTD or schema for the language. For example, I was able to add all the tags and attributes for SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) by downloading the files from the W3C site. Total operation time: about 23 seconds.
