Chapter 7. Miscellaneous Movers and Shak... > Finding Your Assets in a Dark Room (...

Finding Your Assets in a Dark Room (Without a Flashlight)

I just love dragging images, Flash movies, and library items from the Assets panel and dropping onto the page. (By the way, did you know that the columns across the Assets panel can be used to sort the files? Click once to sort A–Z and again for Z–A.) Dreamweaver does a yeoman’s job of keeping up with all the site elements, but it’s not perfect by any means. Occasionally, you need to click the Refresh button to make Dreamweaver imported assets appear. Should you ever feel the urge to copy over assets in some other fashion—like with a file manager—you’ll need to take it one step further. Instead of simply clicking the Refresh button, Ctrl+Click it (Command+Click) and you’ll trigger the Recreate Site List command. True, it might take a moment, but it’s the one way to be sure you’re seeing all your site assets. Okay, okay, there’s another way—choose Recreate Site List from the Assets panel Options menu.
