Layers Like You Like ’em

Adding a layer is simple when you use the Insert > Layout Objects > Layer command or the Draw Layer object found in the Layout category of the Insert bar. After inserting a layer, chances are that you’ll need to make changes to its styles using the Property inspector. What you may not know is that you can save yourself the time and trouble of doing the same changes with each layer by setting your Layer preferences. Select Edit > Preferences (Dreamweaver > Preferences) or press Ctrl+U (Command+U), and then choose the Layers category from the list on the left. There you’ll find various settings that will be used when you insert a layer. The Width and Height fields affect only layers that you insert with the Insert > Layout Objects > Layer command. Change this preference as often as you like to help speed up your layer production.
