Targeting Multiple Frames

The vast majority of the time, a hyperlink in a frameset is intended to load a page in a single frame. Sometimes, however, a single hyperlink is needed to update multiple frames. There are two ways to approach this problem—although neither are worry free. The first method is to hyperlink to another frameset that corresponds to the targeted pages; this works well when the pages that are changing are associated. The only real negative is that it adds another layer of complexity to managing the site. The other method is to use a standard hyperlink in addition to a Dreamweaver Go To URL behavior—the hyperlink opens one page in a targeted frame, and the behavior opens another page in a different frame. The downside to the second approach is that it takes two clicks of the browser’s Back button for the user to return to the previous location.
