Edit Browser List

Previewing pages early and often in various browsers will save you on the cost of headache medicine. To make this agonizing process a bit less painful, set up additional browsers for Dreamweaver to use with its Preview in Browser feature. Select Edit > Preferences (Dreamweaver > Preferences) or Ctrl+U (Command+U), and then click Preview in Browser from the Category list on the left. Don’t give the browser a name just yet, or when you do the next step the value in the Name field will be replaced. Now click the Add (+) button and browse to the executable file for your installed browser. Next, give the browser a meaningful friendly name. This is the name that will appear in the menu. Finally, decide if you want this to be the primary browser that is accessed by the keyboard shortcut F12 or the secondary browser accessed by Shift+F12 or neither. You don’t have to make it primary or secondary, if you’d rather access the browser from the menu File > Preview in Browser submenu. By the way, Windows users, you can install as many Netscape browsers as your machine can tolerate but only one Internet Explorer.
