Form-Al Testing

Live Data view is good not only for testing URL parameters, but also for checking form-encoded values. As I’m sure you remember from HTML Forms 101, a form using the GET method passes the values via the URL parameter, whereas a POST method form sends the info in the body of the message sent to the server. You’ve seen how the URL parameter field works—to test values for a POST form, select Live Data Settings from the Live Data toolbar and enter the needed name/value pairs. The names will correspond to the form field names, and the values are what the user enters or selects. Be sure to change the Method to POST. This will hide the unneeded URL parameter field; to get it back, change the Method to GET.
