Project 7. Using Flash in Dreamweaver > Inserting Library Item Instances into D...

Inserting Library Item Instances into Documents

The Flash navigation bar is now ready to be inserted into the web site pages.

1.
Open index.htm, and switch to Code and Design view or Code view.

2.
Place the insertion point right before the <div> tag with an id of textcontent, which is located close to the opening <body> tag. Use Code and Design view to have a clear view of your document structure when you’re adding new content.

3.
Select the flashnav item from the Library category of the Assets panel, and click the Insert button to have the Flash navigation bar inserted into the page.

Caution

Once inserted into a document, Library Items are surrounded by special comment tags. It is important that you don’t remove these tags, otherwise Dreamweaver will not be able to update the Library Item if you modify it. In addition to this, these tags are used by Dreamweaver to highlight the item with a bright yellow background color both in Design and Code views, helping you track every Library Item inserted into the document.

4.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 for the fun.htm and feelingbrave.htm documents.

5.
Save and close all your open documents.
