Project 9. Setting Styles Dynamically > Creating Color-Friendly Images

Creating Color-Friendly Images

The first thing you probably noticed at the end of the previous section is the rather atrocious anti-aliasing around the Shorty Paints logo. When this image was exported from Fireworks, it had a transparent background set to match the yellow of the default site color scheme. When you switch style sheets, the image still has some remnants of that yellow color, used as a matte by Fireworks to make things blend nicely. This creates a major problem, which you’ll address by exporting duplicates of the logo and changing some of your CSS rules. Instead of embedding the image on the page, you’re going to make it a background image on divHeader.

Note

One problem with switching images as backgrounds appears when trying to print the page. Background images may or may not show. To find out how to get around this limitation, check out the “Now Try This” section at the end of this project.
