Project 12. Producing a Sophisticated In... > Setting Up Your Base Pages

Setting Up Your Base Pages

To get started, you need a base set of files. You’re going to create one default page to start with, and then create copies of that file for the rest of your application. This will ensure that every page is XHTML-compliant and has the proper ColdFusion encoding.

You’re obviously aiming for compliant code (why else would you be reading a chapter about an XHTML Editor), so start with an XHTML-compliant document and then attach your CSS file. You’ll need to make sure the document has all of the proper ColdFusion encoding as well. Because you’ll need four separate files for the administration area and one more file for displaying records to the site’s visitors, you’ll be doing a bit of File > Save As to speed things up.
