Uploading Files by Applying a Server Behavior

There’s one thing that highly paid ASP.NET consultants will not want you to know: Anything is possible with the .NET framework. The sky is really the limit. File uploading in a web application was one of those things that was usually relegated to third-party components or complicated scripts in the olden days of classic ASP. I will concede that ColdFusion got it right with its built-in file uploading capabilities way before .NET came out, but aside from that, it was one of those things that you’d either have to pay for or be a guru to implement.

No more. The Dreamweaver extension you installed in “Preparing to Work” (MXMagic Upload.mxp) makes it as easy as applying a server behavior to your page to provide upload services to your application. Although it is very simple to do it without the aid of a third-party tool, this extension removes the need for you to write any code whatsoever.
