Chapter 12. Creating Links with Macromed... > Linking to Pages on Your Website

Linking to Pages on Your Website

A common metaphor for the Internet is the web; you can easily envision a spider web as you think of all the sites connected to one another through links. Each site can also be thought of in this way: A site begins at a central point—the home page—and branches out to various sections that, in turn, lead into other pages and so on. It's a good bet that the vast majority of the links on your site point not to the world outside, but to the world inside your website.

Because this is such a common goal, Contribute provides several routes to reach it. You can link to other pages found on your site, created by you or someone else. Links to your own recent work—whether still in draft form or just published—can easily be created. Finally, you can add a link and a new page all at the same time, to keep the web connected.
