Introduction

Before you can make changes to a computer file, you must locate the file and open it. If you're editing a page with Microsoft Word or another word processing program, you would choose File > Open and then find the file on your computer or network. With Macromedia Contribute, you browse to the file you want to modify and then choose Edit Page. Browsing in Contribute is similar to browsing the Internet with your standard browser. In fact, Contribute's built-in browser is full featured and capable of displaying virtually anything you can find on the web.

In this chapter, you'll learn the basics of browsing your websites with Contribute, and you'll see how to access new, unlinked pages that might be somewhat off the beaten path. You'll also tour Contribute's features that make it easy for you to browse to frequently edited pages as well as pages you want to link to or just keep tabs on.
