Chapter 9. Adjusting Page Properties > Modifying a Page Title

Modifying a Page Title

Titling a web page correctly takes just a moment, but it has lasting consequences. When you work with a page on your site, it is known by two names: the filename and the page title.

The filename designates how the document is stored on the web server and is part of the file's Internet address; for example, a file named merger.htm might be a press release found at http://www.bigco.com/pressroom/merger.htm. Filenames are often lowercase and typically do not include spaces or other special characters such as commas, apostrophes, or colons.
