Domain name registration is not something to try to save money on. The goal at this stage of the game is to keep from wasting time and money. Do this by avoiding deals that seem to good to be true and by keeping good records.

If It Sounds Too Good to Be True…

At the time of publication, registering a domain name for a year costs around $35. If a registrar offers the service for $12, be suspicious—you might face hidden costs later, or you might be charged “per-usage” fees each time you update your address or other information in your account.
