About the Technical Reviewers

These reviewers contributed their considerable hands-on expertise to the entire development process for Web Design on a Shoestring. As the book was being written, these dedicated professionals reviewed all the material for technical content, organization, and flow. Their feedback was critical to ensuring that Web Design on a Shoestring fits our reader's need for the highest-quality technical information.

Allison Cecil

Whether it was forging straight-A report cards or drawing lemonade-stand signs, design was a part of Allison's life from an early age. Although she briefly pursued art in college, she got tired of wearing black and left her artiste aspirations behind. Upon moving to New York five years ago, black once again became her uniform and her interest in design was piqued. So she proceeded to enroll in Parsons School of Design where she learned that design is not just about pretty pictures.

After a three-year stint with magazine and web design guru Roger Black, Allison struck out on her own. Her clients present her with challenging projects in both web and print. These clients have included New Riders Publishing, Market News International, Watson Adventures, J. Crew, and The National Enquirer.

Allison's hobbies include reading dead writers, riding her pony around Brooklyn, and wrestling WWF style with her 15 lb. cat, Weston Cecil. She is a graduate from the American Red Cross Basic Sailing Safety course as well as the University of California, San Diego.
