Chapter 17. Using Reports > Using the Accessibility Report

Using the Accessibility Report

Section 508 requires that United States Federal agencies’ electronic and information technology be accessible to people with disabilities. Accessibility regulations for United States government purchasing officers make accessibility a concern for many Web developers. Online learning applications created for United States government agencies are subject to the accessibility specifications.

With the recent implementation of Section 508, the United States government is committed to delivering Web pages to those with physical, visual, and hearing disabilities. If you aren’t subject to these regulations, it’s still a good idea to be familiar with accessibility recommendations; you might be tasked with creating online training applications that serve those in the disabled community. You can learn more about Section 508 at www.section508.gov.
