Online learning applications often have an assessment section—a quiz or a test for evaluating the learner’s understanding and immediate retention of the material. Levels of assessment vary. An assessment could be a simple “knowledge check,” in which learners are evaluated and given feedback on their performance that only they can see, or it could be an important certification exam, where the results must be securely tracked and transmitted.
