Exploring Dreamweaver’s Configuration

Dreamweaver’s user interface is controlled by files created in standard languages: HTML, JavaScript, and XML. The files controlling the Dreamweaver interface are stored in the Configuration directory, shown in Figure 18.1, under the Dreamweaver directory created when you install Dreamweaver. The extensions you’ve downloaded and installed in Dreamweaver take advantage of this extensible architecture. When you install an extension with the Extension Manager, it is simply making sure that all the files are installed into the correct directories under Dreamweaver’s Configuration directory.

Figure 18.1. The Configuration directory contains the files that control Dreamweaver’s program interface.
